Our last final project for the semester we had to research and read articles from a business magazine, the article has to be less than a year old. And my partner for this research is Andrea. We are still in the process of finding a good article to read. There is so many out there that you can use, and I know that I’m a very picky person when it comes to picking out the right one. When you give me different variety of articles to pick I know that it’s gonna take me a while to pick the right one. But with Andrea on my side that shouldn’t be too hard. Hopefully we can get an article to write about. It is the last project for the semester so we are going to give our very best.

Our Stock Assignment

I really enjoy this stock assignment, that we are assigned to do. I really like playing pretend on how to invest in the stock market world. I’ve never really know how to buy stock, and know much to invest. But reading the introduction of how to start investing, it was really easy. If I had a million dollar this is what I would do with my investment. It’s a very good project to get started if I ever money someday to invest. Thanks for the opportunity of getting us the chance for investing our pretend million dollar that we got from winning the lottery. I really had a good time of investing in the stock market.

Christmas is coming!

It looks like Christmas is just around the corner. I can’t believe that I have to start doing my shopping. I was watching one of the MSN’s news video and how their stats were going to be for this Christmas. They believe that this year people are going to spend less money due to the recession that we just had. And if people are going to spend money, their going to aim their gifts at buying electronics. There are those that buy gifts for themselves, while shopping for others. I know I am one of them. Well, it also shows that not a lot of people are going to be doing that much this year. It’s definitley going to be a wonderful Christmas.

school referendum

Well it looks like another school referendum didn’t pass. It was a very hard decision to see if I wantd to vote “Yes.” But I have a friend who’s a teacher at one of the Stevens Point School. And she was telling me that I should go in and vote. And I could care less since I don’t have any kids of my own, but I do have a little brother that is still in school, and I know how much he enjoys all those school activities and I want him to enough it while he is still young, so I went in and voted, but the outcome of it was that it didn’t go through. Now, from what I heard they are going to start cutting down activities for next year, and my little brother will just have to find a new hobby after school now.

It seems that the government wants banks to become as profitable as possible now, since after their incredible screw-ups of the prior few years, because to the extent that they can regain their balance by siphoning income from their customers, they will not need to hit up Congress for more emergency relief funds. Thank goodness for small favors, right? Wow, when recession hits everyone gets hurt along with it. I can believe that , recession will affect people’s income and it’s hard to pay back your loans or hard to even put money in the bank.

Airline Tickets for only $25 one-way

So I’ve been spending a lot of time online looking for cheap airline tickets. I would love to do something sweet for this New Year with my boyfriend. And I came across that Southwest Airline is having cheap tickets as low as $25 one way. But the sucking part of this is that they will only run that promotion around certains time. The promotion starts December 2, 2009-December 16, 2009 and again January 5, 2010- Feb. 15, 2010. And those are the time I’m still in school or starting school again, so that sucks that I won’t be able to take advantage of that promotion. That would bring a lot of business there for Southwest Airline.

I’ve been reading the MSN’s homepage in their business topic. And notice that Citi-Financial is starting to charge a monthly fee on their customer’s credit card. Even if you don’t use it, they’ll still charge you a monhtly fee just for having their card. I wonder how many customers their going to be losing. Thank God, I don’t have a credit card with them. A lot of other credit card company are starting to raise their interest rates too. I just wonder if this is going to bring more people into debt for those who can’t hardly handle the minimum payment already.

My favorite hero is President Obama. Why is he my favorite hero? Because he believes in himself and he a lot of people put their trust him. That’s why he got to be the first black President. And recently receive a Nobel Peace Prize. Being an unlikely candidate for the award is just the icing on the cake. He is an inspirational man. And I know that things won’t change right away, but so far I can already see some progress already. I believe he’s a good leader because he kept his promise by telling everyone that when he become President things are going to get better, and it looks like he kept his words. So, that’s why he’s a good leader.

Monday’s class

It was really nice to have the foreign exchange students from Germany to come and share their opinions about our culture and theirs. The impressing thing I was amazed at was that, they know a lot about our American culture, and we have little knowledge about of theirs. It was good to know that we are no different from each other when it comes to politics, health care, and jobs. The fascinating part I thought was really good to know was that their education are separated by advance kids through not advance kids.

Today I have 2 exams. One is for Business Laws and Ethics, and the other one is for my favorite class, Intro to Business. I’m so excited for this exam. This exam covers Chapter 1-4. I was happy that our coolest instructor handed us a review guide to study for it. It makes it a lot easier for me to know what I need to know for this exam. My exam starts at 4:oo pm, because that is when my Intro to Business class starts. So wish me luck, I hope everything goes well!
